Gill Sampson

MY STORY so far...

 

I developed my illustration on my degree course in Graphic Design at the University of Northumbria and then on my MA Illustration at the Royal College of Art, London. I then combined freelance illustration, my own practice and a full time teaching career.

 

I work across a range of mixed media, traditional, digital 

and a combination of both. As well as working to brief my 

inspirations include many things and I am always inspired by narrative, text, landscapes. Freelance work and commissions

have included editorial, publishing, children's illustration, design and advertising.

 

My teaching covers undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Higher Education in art and design, illustration and visual 

communication. It includes posts as Senior Lecturer, as Course Leader for Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton, and as lecturer and tutor at several universities and colleges in the UK, currently the University of Huddersfield.
